LYME BAY HOLIDAYS ARE SOLE SPONSORS FOR THE EAST CLIFF SCULPTURE TRAIL

We are pleased to announce that one of the three Sculpture Trails, being developed for Lyme Regis ArtsFest this year, will be sponsored by Lyme Bay Holidays.  Five sculptures are planned for the East Cliff Trail.  Three already exist in an almost completed form.  The other two are scheduled to be installed by the beginning of September.

Saint Michael’s Church had given permission for a woven willow installation on their cleft chestnut fence called ‘Vibrant Skyline’ – it was the first work to be finished and took nine distinct visits to complete over several weeks in the Spring.  Permission has been obtained from West Dorset District Council and Natural England to undertake land art sculptures near the new sea defences, including the first to be completed there, which is called ‘Primordial Turmoil’.

John Calder of the ArtsFest Team explained that the money will assist in the ongoing care and management of the sculptures, some of which may yet be allowed to remain over an extended period.  Jim Mathews, Director of Lyme Bay Holidays, says he will be able to ensure that hundreds of visiting families obtain a free copy of the ArtsFest brochure in their arrival pack.
